    FFRC’s Two Foreign Aid Training Programs Started Successfully

    On October 10, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, organized by Freshwater Fisheries Research Center (FFRC), the “Training Course on Green Fisheries Technology Innovation and Carbon Neutrality for Developing Countries” and “Training Course on Fish Seed Production and Feed Development for Developing Countries” started successfully. Li Wen, Director of the Dept. of Foreign Cooperation of Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, and BING Xuwen, Deputy Director of FFRC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jing Xiaojun, Chief of the Dept. of International Cooperation and Education of FFRC.

    Director Li Wen said that since the launch of the “One Belt, One Road” S&T Innovation Action Plan led by China in 2017, China and the B&R countries have carried out humanistic exchanges in science and technology, joint laboratories, cooperation in science and technology parks, technology transfer and other aspects.

    Deputy Director BING Xuwen mentioned in his speech that green fisheries technology innovation and carbon neutrality are the present and future of China’s fisheries industry. In addition, China has long been a leader in aquatic seed development. We are willing to share our experience through this online training, and make new contributions to the green and sustainable development of the world aquaculture industry.

    Ms. Manniwan Sriyan, Policy Analyst from the Department of Fisheries of Thailand, and Ms. Robelta Wogliki, Senior Fisheries Officer of Kenya, deliver their speech as representatives of participants.

    The two training courses were attended by 96 participants from nine countries, including Thailand, Uganda, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Kenya, Nepal, Egypt and Mozambique. Relevant personnel and faculty representatives of the Dept. of Bio-Technology, Fishery Microchemistry Laboratory and other departments were invited to participate in the event.
