Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) issued the “Notice on the 2023 Agricultural Leading Varieties and Major Technologies”, and selected 10 major leading technologies, 143 leading varieties and 176 major technologies. The “Key Technology for Ecological Rice-Fishery Farming Quality & Efficiency Improving” innovated by FFRC was selected as one of the 2023 major technologies.

The “Key Technology for Ecological Rice-Fishery Farming Quality & Efficiency Improving” solved many problems of the traditional rice-fish farming mode, such as extensive technology, low utilization efficiency of resources, no guarantee of product quality, etc. It has made a breakthrough on 8 key technologies focused on “reasonable planting, fertilizer control, drug reduction, precise control and management”. 7 modes which are suitable for different regions have been developed, including rice-fish mode, rice-loach mode, rice-shrimp mode, rice-crab mode, rice-turtle mode, rice-frog mode and rice-fish-duck mode. It leads to the industrial transformation and upgrading of integrated rice-fishery farming in China, and promotes the healthy and sustainable development of aquaculture.

Next step, FFRC will make full use of its research strength and advantages of the National Modern Agricultural Industrial Technology System to actively carry out technical guidance and centralized training, guide farmers and new-agriculture proprietors to scientifically apply advanced agriculture technology, and provide strong scientific support for the rural revitalization and build China’s strength in agriculture.
