From January 6 to 7, the 2023 Annual Summary Meeting of the National Characteristic Freshwater Fish Industry Technology System was held in Changsha, Hunan. The meeting was presided over by Yang Hong, Chief Scientist of the National Characteristic Freshwater Fish Industry Technology System, and more than 130 people attended the meeting, including all post scientists, test station directors and team backbones of the system.
Lan Dingguo, Deputy Director General of Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said in his speech that the potential and shortcomings of the characteristic freshwater fish industry in Hunan Province, and the convening of this meeting is an encouragement and spur for the high-quality development of fishery in Hunan. Li Qing, Chief Engineer of the National Fisheries Technology Extension Center, expressed his gratitude to all the experts of the system for their important contributions and hard work in the past year, and pointed out that the future work should be further carried out from three aspects: first, to accelerate the improvement of the system’s scientific and technological support capacity and level for the development of the characteristic freshwater fish industry; second, to do a good job in scientific and technological innovation of the whole industry chain. On behalf of the supporting units of the R&D Center of the system, Director Xu Pao expressed his heartfelt thanks to the competent departments at all levels and all experts for their strong support to the R&D Center and the work of the Chief Scientist.
Wang Dan, Director of the Science and Technology and Market Processing Division of the Bureau of Fisheries, MARA, presided over the evaluation of the Chief Scientist of the system online. Chief Scientist Yang Hong reported on the completion of the system’s work in 2023 from the aspects of key industrial technology research and integration of the whole industry chain, cooperation with enterprises, science and technology correspondent, emergency services, management mechanism innovation and publicity and reporting.
The system implementation expert group presided over the completion of the 2023 annual evaluation of the directors of each functional research department, post scientists and integrated test stations. The meeting studied and discussed the 2024 annual work plan of the system.
