From July 7-8, the 2019-2020 annual meeting of Freshwater Shrimp Industrial Technology System of Jiangsu Province was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu. The meeting was presided over by Fu Hongtuo, Chief expert of the system, researcher of FFRC. More than 60 people including Xu Pao, Director of FFRC, Jiang Xuezhong and Bi Dongmei, Directors of the Science and Education Division, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, relevant persons in charge of the Science and Education Division (Section) of the Cities’(Counties’) Bureau of Agriculture and Rural affairs, all the experts of the system, and directors of the promotion demonstration base attended the meeting.

Director Xu Pao said that under the correct leadership and strong support of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the joint efforts of all experts and team members of the system, the system has achieved remarkable results and provided strong technical support for the development of Jiangsu freshwater shrimp industry. The new aquatic species "Taihu No. 1" and "Taihu No. 2" cultivated by FFRC have obtained good benefits and far-reaching influences during the demonstration and extension of the system.

The chief expert of the system, 5 post experts and 12 base directors respectively reported the work of 2019-2020 from the following aspects: the completion of tasks, system self-construction, collaborative innovation, demonstration base construction, achievement demonstration and promotion, decision-making consulting services, scientific and technological assistance work, use of funds, existing problems, etc., and proposed the work plan for the next year.

Director Jiang Xuezhong fully affirmed the work of the freshwater shrimp system in the past year. He said that freshwater shrimp system has strongly supported the development of the provincial freshwater shrimp industry; he hoped that the system will pay more attention to the problem of industrial poverty alleviation, and further expand the area and scope of guidance service and achieve greater results through the joint efforts of all post experts and base directors.
